The Super Connector
Simone Eyles is the founder of 365Cups, Working Spaces HQ and is one of the early pioneers in the regional startup space. She cofounded 365Cups in 2011 and has been a proactive agent of change across rural communities ever since. Whether you need to be connected to someone from Byron Bay to McClaren Vale; Simone is one of the few people in Australia that likely knows someone to connect you with. Simone gets no benefit out of taking part in these kinds of activities, for over seven years she has helped out anyone that she can often putting the ecosystem before herself. That is why she is our first ever Silicon Paddock Key Bearer.
Di Somerville may be a world away from navigating warships since she left her highly successful career in the Australian Navy for life on the farm but that doesn't mean she is living the simple life. Di is the founder of RGTC Group, AgriHack and recently formed a landmark partnership between Australia Post and her venture Regional Pitchfest. This will see the startup pitch competition rolled out nationally across 8 states and territories; introducing rural startups to investors, seasoned entrepreneurs and other regional startups. In 2015 Di bravely made a public statement to the media about experiencing depression during her transition back to life in rural Australia; helping to start an important conversation on mental health and rural startups. Di is the second person to be named a Silicon Paddock Key Bearer.
